  Emily Dickinson
      / Fascicle 1 – 40
/ Summer 1858 –
          Spring 1864

This collection presents poems by the American nature poet Emily Dickinson written between 1858 and 1864. In her early thirties, Dickinson bound around 800 of her poems into forty handmade booklets, also called “fascicles” by scholars. They were only published after her death, and the exact order was not researched until 2016. This edition is inspired by the original booklets of Dickinson and expresses the 40 booklets in a new artistic approach. The booklet size and the binding are slightly adjusted, the original ordering of the poems and booklets are kept. Moreover this edition showcases the carefully typesetted poems, the original handwritten manuscripts and plants from the writer’s earlier herbarium from 1839 – 1846. A booklet can be easily read by turning each page. In addition to the usual reading, each single sheet can be pulled out to reveal Dickinson’s original handwritten poems. The 40 covers also feature selected leaves and flowers and represent the entire creative phase through the changing seasons. The poetry collection was exhibited in 2023 at the Leipzig Book Fair at the stand of the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design.
